GIVE A SUIT, CHANGE A LIFE WITH THE CANADIAN SUIT DRIVE

About the Canadian Suit Drive

From now to July 31st Moores’ Clothing will complete their sixth annual Canadian Suit Drive. The Drive is an initiative held by Moores’ to change the lives of thousands of unemployed men & women around Canada to build careers, stability and confidence.

What to donate and Why?

You can donate your gently used suits, shirts, jackets, pants, ties, belts and shoes as well as women’s professional clothing at any of the more than 120 Moores’ Clothing For Men stores across the country. To thank you for donating, you will receive 50% off your next purchase at Moores (excluding shoes, clearance, and exceptional value items). There are 60 participating recipient organizations nationwide.

NHL superstar, John Tavares believes in the cause, so much so that’s he’s offering his support to help spread the word. “I’m thrilled to support the Canadian Suit Drive and help men and women in our communities acquire the confidence needed to get back to work, while wearing the appropriate attire,” Tavares said. “A positive first impression is very important when you walk into an interview. When I show up to a game, wearing a nice suit, I’m prepared to take on any challenge I may face on the ice. The Canadian Suit Drive is something I am proud to support – to give self-confidence back to fellow hard-working Canadians.”

Moores’ Canadian Suit Drive has collected 231,470 clothing donations since it began five years ago, and has made a difference in many people’s lives. Eric was a 2014 recipient who benefited from a suit donation and, in turn, helped others.

“The Canadian Suit Drive absolutely helped me make a strong first impression, which became a lasting impression, and helped me secure a full time role as an international teacher,” says Eric. “I’d like to pay it forward and help spread the news of this important cause. There are many people, like me, who have benefited from this amazing campaign.”

On Tuesday, July 21st I will be co-hosting a twitter party to help raise awareness amongst Moores Clothing and other social media gurus from 8-9 PM ET. Please join us using the hashtag #SuitDrive and #SuitKarma and hopefully we will help the Canadian Suit Drive beat it’s goal of 75,000 donated units.

  2. Great article. Now that I am freelance I don’t need all the suits in my closet. I am going to do a positive purge and also ask my husband to review his clothing. He is a regular customer at Moore’s and will appreciate the 50% discount on his next purchase. I have shared this through other social media. See you at the Twitter chat tonight.
