HOT TOPICS: KIM KARDASHIAN, D SQUARED & MORE

Hello Friends, a new website layout calls for new segments! Starting this Wednesday I will have the first ever “Woman Crush Wednesday” segment, which will include interviews from my favourite women in the fashion and entertainment industry. Also, I started my own Hot Topics segment (hopefully I don’t get sued by Wendy Williams) to talk about my opinion on trending news across the globe in the fashion and entertainment industry. One last announcement before I get started, I am honoured to be the Official Blogger of Fashion Against Cancer which a Canadian Fashion Show in support of the Canadian Cancer Society – so be sure to check out my uploads by clicking “here”.

So let’s get started! Today media darling Kim Kardashian broke the internet when she appeared at Paris Fashion Week with her new bleach blonde hair-do. Of course with Kim being one of the most loved and hated celebrities in the world today, she started a media frenzy with her new look, with media outlets and fans tweeting/instragramming and best of all meme-ing her new look. Based on the comparisons to Malfoy of Harry Potter, Jared Leto’s new look, Lord of the Rings characters and Steve from video game Tekken, it seems that people are not in favour of the new look.

Another hot topic today was definitely was more so shocking than entertaining. Canadian designer duo Dean and Dan Caten of the iconic label D SQUARED showcased their newest collection. However, they decided to call their Native inspired FW15 collection “DSquaw.” Now for those who do not know what the term “Squaw” means, it is an racist remark towards Native American women. Media outlet “ELLE Beaver” goes into further details on what happened exactly, but all I can say is what the f***. Now I know quiet a few people in the fashion industry that are friendly with both brothers, and I do not want to be the 1000th person today to call them ignorant… but I will anyways. Hopefully next time they will think and do better.

  1. I have been browsing online more than 3 hours nowadays, but I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It is lovely value sufficient for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will probably be much more useful than ever before.
