World MasterCard Fashion Week Day 1: The Checkered Suit

WMCFW is finally here and with a fully scheduled week ahead of myself, I am in for a lot of fun, shows, and fashion! Tonight was amazing, with shows from Sid Neigum, Pink Tartan, Mercedes Benz Start-Up. To finish the day, there was a fabulous Joe Fresh party – where I was lucky enough to score a selfie with Mr. Joe Mimran, Founder of Joe Fresh & Club Monaco himself!

Behind the Look

Today I am wearing a RW&CO Fall/Winter 2014 suit, Versace scarf, and simple black Cole Haan derbies. I didn’t want to over-empower the print on the suit by adding too many other layers/prints and I kept it quiet monochromatic, but added the oxblood knit tie for a splash of colour. The non-iron shirt from RW&CO was definitely a life saver, because it did not wrinkle at all throughout the events, which kept my look as polished as I hoped it would be. The sweater is actually a merino wool sweater that was already in my closet from RW&CO’s FW13 collection, but below I have attached a link to similar sweaters from their current collection. It was tough to leave my reflective shoes home tonight but I think I’ve been to too many fashion events with them and wanted to let them rest this week. I also kept it very simple with my accessories, with a gorgeous Movado watch, a fossil bracelet and my favourite flip-up sunglasses.

Highlights of Day 1:

There are so many highlights behind the events, from having fun with my friend April Corner of Flare, to seeing my blogger pals – Erica Chapman of Chapman Collects, Jay Strut, Alexander Liang, Justine Iobani, Meaghan of Fashion Savage, Dainty Girl, Jessica Panetta and so many more. At the finale event, the Joe Fresh party, I met some of my favourite designers and celebs such as; Christopher Bates and David Dixon, Joe Mimran, the gorgeous Jully Black, and Tracy Moore of Cityline and the list went on. The part that broke my heart was that I left prior to Solange Knowles arrival, but in its entirety, the night was a blast.
