STYLE CAPTAIN – MAY OUTFIT FT. NAUTICA

Hey Prepsters,

I am super excited to announce that I am a Canadian brand ambassador for the iconic brand, Nautica. For the next 8 months, I have teamed up with Nautica to showcase my favourite pieces from their newest collections in a series of outfit posts. Before I get started my blog post, I wanted to talk about my personal history with the brand. Nautica is a brand that I actually grew up with, especially with my father being their biggest fan and a loyal customer for as long as I can remember. I would remember going to stores in Australia such as Grace Brothers (now Myers) and helping my dad pick out his Nautica threads. Recently I asked my dad what he loved about the brand, and he talked about the fit, the ease of wear and more importantly – the quality. Now that I live in Canada, I still go to stores like The Hudson’s Bay and seek out the brands newest pieces. What I am loving about the Nautica of today is that the brand is reimagining itself to appeal to its current loyal followers and the generations to come, with updated fit options and a more modern aesthetic. For my May look as Nautica’s Style Captain, I wanted to go for a nautical look that is modern enough to be worn in the city. I started off with a beautiful wrinkle resistant gingham button down shirt. Being a larger guy, I appreciated that the shirt offered a comfortable fit – while maintaining a clean and stream-lined look. The shirt is available online at TheBay.com

I layered it with a stunning cotton cable knit sweater. The sweater is substantial without the bulk, which makes it a great option for cooler spring and summer days. I also love the accent buttons on the left shoulder. The sweater also looks fantastic on it’s own as a single layer. You can find this beautiful sweater online at TheBay.com

Finally, I completed the look with classic wash denim trousers. The jeans are fantastic because they have a little bit of stretch for extra comfort. The jeans also boast a comfortable classic cut, while maintaining a clean aesthetic. Pair the jeans with a dress shirt and a tie and you can rock it for casual Fridays at work. Shop the jeans online at TheBay.com.

I accessorized the look with my Geox dress shoes, Tod’s sunglasses, a Hackett London tote and a Bulova watch.
