Tuesday, September 15th, AllSaints showed their Spring 2016 womenswear and menswear collection at a showroom in the Meatpacking District. The collection reflects the tension between codification and effortless insouciance, modernity and classicism, the city and the country.
Taking New York Fashion Week as its backdrop, AllSaints documented and presented the Spring 2016 collection on a street-cast collective of individuals, and eschewed the conventions of the catwalk in favor of casting, producing, shooting, editing and releasing a film – all within seven days. This process highlights the brand’s ongoing commitment to empowering real people. In real places. With real stories.
The resulting film, a short documentary entitled It’s Up To You, is a love-letter from the people of New York to their own city, was premiered during the presentation.
AllSaints’ Creative Director Will Beedle comments, “I feel strongly that AllSaints’ collections provide the catalyst for individual creativity, no matter who you are, where you’re from, or how you see the world. Everything’s valid. What we present is a uniform without uniformity.”
