One of this year’s biggest capsule collections have launched and set the world on a fashion frenzy. Joseph Altuzzara, Creative Masterhead behind luxe brand Altuzzara has brought his sought after style to the mass. The Altuzzara for Target collection may only be a womenswear collection, but it doesn’t stop me from talking about it – as it still is one of the big fashion highlights of this year alongside H&M X Alexander Wang, GQ X GAP, Helmut Lang X Uniqlo and more…
The collection is true to the brand’s reputation in the sense that – I genuinely believe that Joseph A. would have designed these pieces for his own collection. Many designer collaborations often take minimal inspiration from their own collections and just throw a brand name on the product. However, Altuzzara isn’t on the level of brands that have taken that road such that Versace had did with H&M – thus his collection has to bring the real luxury feel of his brand into his cheap and cheerful collection.
I personally love everything in the collection from menswear meets feminine velour suit to the red carpet ready printed gown. Though the fabric was a big complaint from Target’s last collaboration, this collection at least has the appeal of a higher end brand. The colour way is perfect for fall and winter with deep tones, monochromes, rich patterns and lace.
The Altuzzara for Target Collection is scoring a solid 8.5/10. The only reason’s that the collection lost points were because there were no pieces for men, the collection was fairly small, and the marketing was weak. However, on a womenswear design perspective it was a hit!
Let me know what you think of the collection ladies!
