Hey #Prepsters!
I’ve teamed up with Scotiabank to celebrate their new suite of VISA cards with GM Canada by going on a fun little road trip to Waterloo with my sister Sara! Before I dive into the details of the trip here’s a little bit of information on the Scotiabank GM VISA credit card suite:
The new line-up allows Canadians to earn up to 5% in GM Earnings on everyday purchases to go towards the purchase or lease of any new Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick or GMC. They have introduced two new credit cards, the Scotiabank GM VISA Card and the Scotiabank GM VISA Infinite Card. The beauty of the cards is that they allow you to earn GM Earnings and 1 GM Earning is the equivalent of $1 to put towards your next dream GM vehicle. Purchasing or leasing your next GM vehicle with your new Scotiabank GM VISA or Scotiabank GM VISA Infinite Card can lead to incredible new experiences like going on a road trip across Canada or, like myself, going on local adventures. My sister and I traveled in the gorgeous 2016 Chevrolet Trax. Chevrolet is one of the brands you can use your GM Earnings towards. The Chevy Trax is pretty awesome! I loved the brilliant OnStar feature, which allowed my sister and I to connect to the in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot. Plus, the MyLink feature made it easy to navigate through my phone’s playlist – we may have sung karaoke our entire way there.
The first stop of the trip my sister and I went to pick up my best friend Bansri from her apartment! Parking in the Chevrolet was super easy because of their rear-view camera, which told me when to stop – and thank goodness because I ain’t the best at parking.
After a quick stop at her apartment, we decided to find a good place to eat and catch up! We discovered a restaurant named Beertown! Bansri recommended that I order their Mac n’ Cheese, which was pretty darn delicious. Also, by using my Scotiabank GM VISA card, I was racking up GM Earnings to go towards my next dream Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac.
Next, we headed over to Sugar Mountain to pick up some dessert for our ride home. We then dropped my friend back at her place and settled in for a drive back! I was pleasantly surprised that the Chevrolet Trax used less gas than I expected. I later discovered that the fuel consumption is only 7 L/100 KM on the highway – a great rating for a small SUV – which explained why the car was so fuel-efficient. Overall, I had a super fun time on my road trip! It was a great bonding time with my friend and my sister, and also a great way to discover a new city.
But wait! Here’s the fun part! Scotiabank is giving away a $100 gas card to put towards your next road trip.
