#TrueTo My Style | What I Wore to Toronto Men’s Fashion Week

Hey Prepsters,

Guess who’s back with an outfit post to leave y’all shook! Me ;)!

A couple weeks back I was honoured with being named an Ambassador for Toronto Men’s Fashion Week and I had the fun opportunity of showcasing the runway looks for all of the shows on my Instagram stories. And I know that I am a little late on posting a fashion week look and another post I am working on, which will cover my fave runway shows, but I was stuck writing mid-terms #StudentProblems!

I partnered with one of my all-time fave Canadian brands, Joe Fresh for this look. What I truly love about Joe Fresh is that they get what every Canadian is looking for when it comes to affordable, quality, utilitarian, chic and comfortable clothing.

Fashion Week is one of the busiest weeks of the year for myself, and I often hear my fellow blogger friends complain about their uncomfortable (but very stylish) outfits. But I stayed #TrueTo my style by not compromising comfort and still looking sharp.

Outfit Details

The Oxford Shirt – $29 – JoeFresh.com

The first item I selected to put this look together was the infamous Joe Fresh oxford shirt. I know I say this in every post that I wear one, but I stay true to my word! Joe Fresh’s oxfords and chinos are literally my wardrobe staples. Every year, I purchase 3 white and 3 light blue oxfords from the brand, and I have been doing so for almost 5 years! Truth is, for $29, you will never find an oxford shirt this good. The only other oxford shirt that I have own that even mildly compared was from Gant Rugger and that cost upwards of $165. You can purchase the Joe Fresh Oxford Shirt for $29 online at JoeFresh.com and in-store.

The Bomber Jacket – $79 – JoeFresh.com

This amazing bomber jacket from Joe Fresh is the perfect marriage of two staple menswear trends; the bomber jacket and military inspired style. The bomber jacket came back to life a couple of years ago and ever since, designers have recreated them in numerous different ways. What I love about this jacket is the unique choice of fabrication and the field chest pockets. The fabric almost gives off the look of a cotton/linen blend but is actually synthetic, which means that it will be easy to take care of. You can purchase this beautiful bomber jacket for only $79 at JoeFresh.com

JF’s Famous Chino now with Stretch! | $29, JoeFresh.com

Alongside my Joe Fresh oxford shirt obsession, I also have a love affair with the brands chinos! This season the brand released them with stretch, which kinda turned my world upside down! I was so stocked and ran to my nearest location and purchased one in every colour. For this look in particular, I wanted to play up the military inspired theme and opted for a cool olive green. Shop the stretch chino (goes up to size 40) at JoeFresh.com for $29.

Sunglasses | Joe Fresh (In-Store Only)

Joe Fresh has a really cool selection of sunnies and quite frankly, I think they are extremely underrated! I picked up this beautiful style that honestly looks extremely expensive for under $20. I also loved the black and rose gold combination. Head on over to your local Joe Fresh store to find this style and dozens of others!

The Oversized Wallet

For Fashion Week, I typically bring a portfolio bag (better known as a man-clutch). But this year, I wanted to bring something a little more compact. I picked up this double zipped Cole Haan wallet from Winners about a year and a half ago and never got the chance to use it besides my trip to Pakistan. I took a couple of notes from the European bloggers and decided to rock this solo. You can find a similar one from Prada, mind you, it’s going to cost you big bucks, but it does look fantastic.

Simply Elegant Watch – Brathwait

To accessorize, I opted for the classic slim watch from Brathwait. The rose gold and black played well with the sunglasses and the simplicity played well with the rest of the look. I have a whole entire post dedicated to this watch so you can get more details on this watch by clicking here.

Black Chelsea Boots | Hush Puppies

These chelsea boots stayed true to the military polished theme that I was going for, with this look. I also love the deep red goring on the shoe which makes them stand out without screaming! Unfortunately, these are an old friend and are no longer available. You can find similar styles at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse Canada at DSW.TownShoes.ca

I hope you guys loved this look! Be sure to share your Joe Fresh looks online and tell us how you stay “True To” yourself with the hashtag #TrueTo + tag myself @ThePrepGuy!
