EARLY SUMMER LOOK BOOK | HUDSON’S BAY MEN #HBMEN

HEY PREPSTERS!

Summer is practically here and I’ve teamed up with Canada’s most iconic retailer, The Hudson’s Bay to share a few of my fave looks. It has been a while since I had the chance to do a blog post dedicated to an outfit post, so I decided to one-up it and create a blog post featuring 4 epic early summers looks for men! The following looks are inspired by some of the biggest menswear trends right now and you can simply shop them by clicking on the bolded text.

LOOK 1 | CITY MEETS NAUTICAL VIBES

For my first look, I went for a sophisticated look created with a combination of casual wear and summer dress wear. I started the look with the most casual pieces; the perfect stripe tee from Nautica, paired with one of Docker’s famous navy chinos. Though the tee and chinos would look really nice for an everyday summer look, I took up a notch with a beautiful linen blazer from Tommy Hilfiger and winged leather monk-straps from Stacy Adams. To accessorize the look, I went for simple aviators and a leather band watch.

LOOK 2 | FLOWER POWER

Florals have become a main stay in the stylish man’s summer wardrobe! You can find amazing pieces with different scales and effects. For this look, I focused on a floral shirt that is an easy pick for every man! Plus because the print is so small, you can really wear this shirt for many occasions! I love this Nautica shirt because it is super versatile, and can be worn on it’s own, or underneath a sweater or a cooler summer evening. I paired the shirt with an almost teals blue short from Dockers. Fun fact, this look actually plays on two major menswear trends, which are florals and also layering different hues of blues. To complete the look, I paired it with a classic pair of Converse Chuck Taylor’s II, which if I may add, are THE most versatile sneaker in the world!

LOOK 3 | THE MUST HAVE SUMMER SUIT

Finding the right off the rack summer suit doesn’t have to be daunting! I scoured through The Bay and found my personal favourite suit, which also came in a great size range! This Lauren Ralph Lauren suit boasts ultra-flex technology which means it is super comfortable. I also appreciated the fact that the trousers came in the full length, allowing myself to tailor them in the perfect length. I personally wanted to go for a shorter trouser effect, so that I could rock it with sneakers, and even loafers – for a more casual look (coming soon to my instagram). I paired the suit with a beautiful powder blue shirt from Black Brown 1826 and a super cute nautical print tie from Lauren Green. I dressed my feet in those beautiful Stacy Adams monk-straps that you just saw in look 1.

LOOK 4 | NEUTRAL TONES & UPDATED CLASSIC

For the fourth and final look, I touched on the “neutrals” menswear trend. I wanted to showcase it in a very easy way but there’s a fun little twist. Polo Ralph Lauren is famous for their incredible oxford shirts and when I saw this one, I instantly fell in love! This shirt features an frayed finish, which kind of looks like a fringe effect at bottom. You can also pair this underneath a sweater and leave out the fringed parts for a super fresh look. I paired the shirt with Docker’s chinos in a beautiful tan colour, and completed the look with my white converse sneakers.
