Hey Prepsters,
Earlier this year, I had the honour of flying out with Cadillac Canada, alongside some amazing’ creators, influencers and media outlets, to Fogo Island, Newfoundland, to experience the stunning 2017 Cadillac Xt5. This had to be one of the most exciting trips in my life. Not only was it my first time going to the East Coast of Canada, but much like any car lover, I was thrilled to play with the all new Cadillac XT5.
GETTING TO FOGO ISLAND
For the first day of the trip, we flew out from Toronto and stopped in the City of St. Johns. We stayed at the amazing JAG Hotel and had a delicious dinner. After a fun night, we gathered for a quick breakfast, before getting back on the road and to Fogo Island. Because Fogo is so far north, Cadillac chartered a private plane to get us to the destination. Upon arrival, the Fog was too thick too land, so we redirected to Gander International Airport, which in my opinion, only made the adventure even more exciting!
I have to give credit to the Cadillac team, because, though this was such a sudden change of plans, they were beyond organized, and they chartered a beautiful bus to pick us up from Gander. We stopped by an adorable family owned diner, which had, potentially the best fish and chips ever.. lol #foodie. After refuelling our bodies, we got back onto the bus and headed for a Ferry ride to the Island.

After a scenic ferry ride, we finally made it to Fogo Island, to be greeted by a fleet of Cadillac XT5’s, which pretty much made me wish everyday of my life was like that. Before the trip I had seen pics of Fogo Island Inn on the internet, but I honestly was in AWE when I saw it.
YES! Those are icebergs in the background! Like SURREAL. Although I was a little bit exhausted by the time we got to the hotel, we went for a tour of the hotel and gathered once again for a beautiful dinner at the hotel. The next morning, I had the chance to explore the hotel on my own & island with Franco, Owner of Charlie’s Burger and a community guide.
The Fogo Island Inn – Hotel Tour
The hotel itself combines a traditional look with modernity effortlessly. From what I’ve researched, there is a strong celebrity fan base including Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who spent Easter at Fogo Island Inn with his family. The hotel was seriously incredible, with views of the ocean (and icebergs), and dozens of amenities and a multitude of beautiful decor. For further information on the hotel, visit their website.
I have a thing for how cool the chandeliers were in the dining room of the Inn.
This beautiful lounge features an eclectic and cool area to relax and unwind.
How stunning is this staircase?
There’s a beautiful cinema which is also open to the community, alongside numerous amenities, including a sauna, a library, a conference area and so much more.
This definitely had to be the most stylish library I’ve ever experienced in my life.
This chair’s fabrication was hand-knitted, on the island.

The 2017 Cadillac XT5
The stunning Cadillac XT5 is the definition of versatility reinvented. The crossover vehicle was spacious while staying sleek and stylish. I did a full vehicle elements breakdown on Snapchat because there are so many spectacular features of the vehicle, but a few things I was obsessed with were the interior design elements (in the Platinum edition XT5); from the microsuede headliner, Wi-Fi (god-send when you’re travelling), and the rear camera mirror.
Another few things about the vehicle that I LOVED was the electronic precision shift, which allowed myself to go from park to drive in a quick movement… and all that stunning tan leather!
The stunning 2o” wheels on the vehicle were definitely eye-catching.

THE ISLAND
I took this picture of Franco and our Guide to Fogo Island Arts Studio. As you will see, this studio maintained the same beautiful aesthetic of the Fogo Island Inn.
The studio is a residency-based venue for creatives and here’s a sample of some of the art that was there.
There was a little beach area by the studio and I had to make the decision of potentially ruining my Ferragamo loafers to get the pic below, but it was soo worth it (luckily my shoes survived).
We hopped back into the vehicle and got to one of the highest points on the island. Which was the perfect photo-opp lol. Photo Cred to Franco.
The views were incredible, just like the experience.
We came to another part of the island, where we could get a better view of the Icebergs!
Overall the trip was my favourite trip in recent years, and even outdid my last trip with Cadillac to the Cobble Beach Concourse. I want to thank the amazing people at Cadillac for the fabulous experience and the amazing guests, which some of them became real friends of mine to this date. Thank you so much for reading Prepsters! I know it was a lot, but this trip was EPIC. Stay tuned for a ton of more fun posts.
