Hey Prepsters!
I want to start off today’s post by saying that I’ve been listening to your feedback in regards to letting you all into the different events that I go to on my blog and not only twitter. So I bought myself a brand new camera, the Sony a 5000, from Best Buy the other day, to ensure that I have the best quality pictures for my TPG Journal Entries. Luckily, I made the purchase before a crazy busy and fun filled day to take you all through. Also, typically I just write the entry before the photos, but I really want you to go through my journeys with me, so I added captions to most of them to introduce you to my friends and event transitions.
On Thursday, September 24th, I was invited by J.Crew’s Bloor St. to experience their new Fall Denim collection as well as to meet/go through the collection with their legendary menswear designer, Frank Muytjens. For my readers who aren’t that in the know of the fashion industry, Frank Muytjens is the head of men’s design for J.Crew and Somsack Sikhounmuong is the head of women’s design for J.Crew (and a fellow Canadian!), and in my opinion, the reason why J.Crew is so successful today. From what I took away from Frank is that J.Crew is starting to make denim cool again, with designs that are easy for all men. What I also learned was that all J.Crew Denim is made with Japanese Fabrics (the best of the best in denim) and that they also offer beautiful selvedge denim pieces as well. I picked out a pair of J.Crew 1040 Jeans in the Cheshire wash, which I will be shooting soon. The J.Crew team also did a really great job on inviting my favourite guys in the industry, which made the event so much more fun.
Arriving at the J.Crew Bloor. St location at 8:00

Like myself, J.Crew is obsessed with the Canadian Tuxedo (denim on denim).

Frank Muytens taking us through the J.Crew FW15 Denim! No Big Deal!
Can I mention how cool Frank’s tuxedo jacket + denim shirt combo is? #TakeNotes
The store was filled with the most influential guys in Canadian Menswear, and yours truly of course :P.
Before heading out, myself and my friends Alex, Leo, and Jonathan and I took a few pics and grabbed some coffee at Kit & Ace’s new location.
Jonathan and I then went off to LodinG’s beautiful new Sherway Gardens location to pick up our shoes for our collaborations with the brand.
Jon and I at LodinG Paris, Sherway Gardens
My favourite shoes on display! I love the fact that LodinG offers a service where a patina artist available to hand paint your shoes.
This is pretty much the perfect summary of everything LodinG has to offer in terms of product! Cashmere sweaters, socks, shirts, neckwear, footwear and small leather goods.
Sneak peak at the shoes I tried on! You will be seeing one of the guys in an outfit pic very soon.
Our beautiful shoes came in some pretty packaging! Jonathan and I also headed to Toronto Eaton Centre and checked out the newly renovated ECCO Store. After a quick stop, I had to run to First Canadian Place for an event at Harry Rosen.
I came in right in time for Larry Rosen, CEO of Harry Rosen’s speech! After a really brief stop I ran to my finance class.
I hope you enjoyed myself taking you through my insanely busy Thursday! It was also Eid, so Eid Mubarak to all of my amazing muslim #Prepster friends! Love – Syed, The Prep Guy
