The first day of World MasterCard Fashion Week, aka WMCFW is like a first day back at school for people in the fashion industry. For myself it was both the best and worst day of fashion week, mainly because I got to see all of my friends in the industry, but I also had to see the people in the industry that I always thought were a little bit obnoxious. Regardless, it was a fun day of a few great shows!
My look was in collaboration with Le Chateau and Fossil. The idea behind the look was to be comfortable, warm and casual at the same time. Obviously, I wanted to keep it in the realm of being dapper, without compromising the comfort. The overcoat may seem familiar, because this Le Chateau collaboration was a continuation of the TOM*FW collaboration. The cashmere blend coat was definitely the key piece of my look. I picked the Fossil Estate Portfolio bag because of it’s unique pin-striped wool fabric and leather details. The watch and sunglasses were matched together. My shoes were a brand new addition to my footwear closet, I picked them up from Cole Haan the day before. The turtleneck was cheap and cheerful, and I picked it up on sale at Forever 21 for $7 (for real). But big news on the fedora/bowler hat I wore! Not only was it also affordable, it was the first round hat to ever work on my head, which was legitimately a miracle. My friend Sultan Sandur who owns Just Sultan, gave me the pocket square last year during the first Toronto Men’s Fashion Week, and I have been obsessed with it ever since. The Lapel Pin was a front-row gift at the David C Wigley show.
