I had the honour of being a Toronto Fashion Week ambassador for this seasons shows! I have been blogging for just under 5 years now and TFW Toronto Fashion Week was my first time experiencing any runway shows. So I was totally excited to be an ambassador because it felt like a full circle moment, and also because I am a huge supporter of the Canadian fashion market!
Unfortunately during this fashion week the weather was around 40 degrees, but as you guys know by now, I love layering – so I sucked it up! For my day one look, I wanted to wear a comfortable look, which still looked polished – but was also easy to layer out of – so I opted for a simple tee with dress trousers and a trench!
The Trench & Tee
Banana Republic trench coats are some of my faves, more specifically the Banana Republic Heritage Collection Trench Coats. This navy trench features BR’s tailoring + performance fabric which is water resistant! I paired the look with a simple long sleeve BR t-shirt from their last fall collection! It’s the first time I was able to find a tan/nude tone that looked great on my brown skin, but I truly think it will be universally flattering on every guy!
I did find this trench on sale earlier this year and it is currently unavailable online and in-stores – but the heritage collection is my personal favourite collection that BR offers; especially for rugged/polished casual wear so be sure to check it out here!
I picked up the QUAY Australia Weekend Warrior sunnies as a statement piece for the look. These are reflective but also quite large so they definitely stand out! I also think that QUAY makes some of the best affordable fashion sunglasses for both men and women! This style in particular is on sale on their website for only $39 but they do have a lot of amazing men’s styles so be sure to check em out!
These trousers are my personal obsession and are exclusive to Destination XL – one of my fave big and tall retailers ever! The reason that I’m obsessed with these is because they have a waist relaxer which means they stretch out when I move or sit – and go back to the regular fit once I stand. Meaning that they will not stretch out and look all crazy overtime! I picked these up in store and had their alterations experts hem and take them in to look perfectly tailored!
You can shop all of DXL – Destination XL’s waist relaxer pants in stores and online here! If you pick them up in store or online, be sure to get them altered to look perfect for your body shape!
To complete the look, I found a pair of sneakers at Browns Shoes which literally had the same tan colour in my tee + the same blue as my jacket, tying my look together perfectly! These sneakers by B2 are also on clearance for 70% off at only $45 at BrownShoes.com
