RALPH LAUREN TO STEP DOWN AS CEO OF NAMESAKE LABEL

Hey Prepsters!

There was a huge announcement made today by the New York Times in regards to the king of prep, Ralph Lauren, who will be allegedly stepping down as the C.E.O from his namesake label. However, he will be continuing with the brand as the Chief Creative Officer and as an Executive chairman. Taking over the position will be Stefan Larsson, formerly a executive at H&M and as well as a former president at Old Navy.

What this means for Ralph Lauren Fans?

In my opinion, I think that this is the best step for the brand. Over the past year the brand’s bread winning label, Polo Ralph Lauren has had a decrease in sales due the increased pressure from emerging brands within the market place. Technically, by having Mr. Lauren remain as a Creative within the brand we will still be able to enjoy the authentic styles that House of Ralph Lauren has to offer.
