Philips Beardtrimmer Series 5000 Stubble Trimmer Review

Hey Prepsters,

Last year, I teamed up with Philips to review their unique Philips OneBlade electric razor and I have been addicted to it since! So this year, I partnered with Philips again to test and share what else the brand has to offer when it comes to their men’s grooming products.

I have been playing with a few of Philip’s different grooming products for months and really putting them to the test, to provide a real, thorough and honest review.

Today, I will be sharing details on the Philips Beardtrimmer Series 5000 – Stubble Trimmer, which I will refer to as the trimmer going forward.

What You Need to Know

The Philips Series 5000 Trimmer is unique because it allows you to easily change the length cut setting with a zoom wheel. The trimmer has 17 lock in length cut options ranging from 0mm (with no hair lift comb), and from 0,4 mm-7mm (with comb attached). This definitely is the biggest perk of this specific trimmer, because I personally like having my beard to have layers. For example, I prefer the hair on my neck to be a 2mm length, and I go to around 4mm for my facial hair. You can even use it to create a well-blended fade!

The metal blades themselves have been double sharpened to ensure a faster shave. With the integrated hair lift comb attached, I found that the trimmer glided over without getting any irritation and created a beautiful even trim!

The trimmer runs for 70 minutes with a 1-hour charge. However, I also enjoy the fact that if you’re running low on battery, you can also use it while it is plugged into the wall. Which is surprisingly rare when it comes to grooming product!

A closer look: the trimmer has 17 lock settings for cut length!

Another key benefit and major plus of this trimmer is that it is fully waterproof so that you can clean it easily! You also do not need to oil it down, which is typical for razors.

I did find myself however, having to go in with my OneBlade to edge by beard and define the lines once I shaved, for a precise look.

The overall aesthetic of the product is very clean and minimalist. I’m a huge fan of the chrome finish because it looks very lux and makes for a great gifting option as well.

My Final Verdict

As far as a trimmer only product goes, I really enjoyed the Philips Series 5000 Stubble Trimmer. If you’re a gentleman (or with a gent), who rocks and enjoys even stubble, this is the product for you.
