Hey #Prepsters,
It’s day one of Toronto Men’s Fashion Week aka TOM*FW and I’ve teamed up with my friends at Joe Fresh to showcase a couple of my favourite items from their Spring Summer collection. For today’s outfit, I wanted to bring back the coat over the shoulders look (one of my signatures), but also make it easy and comfortable for the long day ahead. I started off with my Joe Fresh staples, first of which is the classic checkered shirt. I love a good ol’ check shirt, because it is incredibly versatile and is the perfect base layer to any dapper look. The next Joe Fresh staple that I opted for is the perfect grey cotton v-neck sweater. I knew that for fashion week, I wanted to pair the look with a tie, and a v-neck is always the most flattering with neckwear. Be sure to visit JoeFresh.com to shop these pieces + more.
For the next layer, I opted for a simple navy stretch blazer from RW&CO‘s last spring collection. I also opted for the navy blazer as it contrasts well with my Banana Republic camel overcoat from their fall/winter collection. For the base, I needed a pair of jeans that were stretchy to take me from my class assignment to the runway shows, so these fab Le Chateau jeans were a god send.
To accessorize my look, I rocked my beautiful emerald green tie from Bows-n-Ties.com, which is my go-to site for affordable neckwear. Although I’ve worn this pocket square before to my very first World Mastercard Fashion Week, I brought it out of the vault to add a little bit of a whimsical detail… and yes, that’s the Tommy Hilfiger puppy ;).
My portfolio pouch by John Varvatos is by far one of my all-time favourite purchases from WINNERS. The original price of the pouch is from $495 and I scored this guy at WINNERS College Park for only $39.99 #Steal. Also, the pouch balanced out the black jeans from my look, which without it would look out of place.
To complete the look I brought in a little bit of brown tones from my Citizen watch, Johnston and Murphy loafers, and TOM’S polarized sunglasses. Note, we shot the shoes either from afar or in a darker way because I have a fun little blog post on them coming at the end of the week – a little mystery is always good.
